November 11, 2016
The Pastoral Council continued its new "Agenda-Free" meeting format for our November meeting. Ministry representatives and parish staff are being asked to provide written status reports prior to the meeting. The oral report part of the meeting has been replaced with a question and clarification session to review the written reports. The goal is to free up more meeting time for parish planning activities.
The Council is using "scorecards" to evaluate the different parish standard operating objectives and priotrizing the items that have the greatest opportunities for improvement. The two items the council is currently focusing on is: Volunteer Process (recruiting, training, appreciation) and Parish Financial Health. We are continuing to use Lectio Divina method of reflecting on the upcoming Sundays Gospel to help us stay spiritual based in all our discussions and decisions.
The council has sponsered a Parish Vision Team that is working with Fr. Ed in developing a 2-5 year parish vision and plan. The results of this work will be communicated with the parish when completed.
