We were blessed to have Fr. Gerald Migadde to be with us for 6 weeks this summer. He recieved his education from St. Stephen the Martyr and came to visit and building solidarity with his "parent parish".
Presenting his mission outreach, he outlined goals to help his impoversihed parish in Mutukula, Masaka, Uganda. This parish sits on the border of Uganda and Tanzania. Our parish was incredibly generous, and all of the intiniatives were funded, with money for more!
On September 11, 2016 Bishop Kaggwa came to Mutukula and blessed the area where the primary school will be built. An afternoon of celebration followed!
Bishop Kaggwa blesses the ground.
The Bishop digs the first footing.
Let t he celebrations begin!
Greetings from Uganda!
God is working and moving in Uganda in a way I can’t explain! The Holy Spirit is guiding the work of this little ministry, the Blessed Virgin Mary is surely interceding for us and Christ is transforming our nation! In my life I had never seen such miracles happen until when I said ‘YES’ to the call to lead teens closer to Christ! I have now lived to witness that God just needs our ‘YES’ and He does miracles and transformation. There is nothing that has given me so much joy than serving as a youth pastor because I live to witness miracles each day, each year and in every area. I always say that “the more I serve, the sweeter it gets”, and i think this has been proved at the XLT Youth Conference we organized for hundreds of young people. Every January, we do an XLT (Exalt) conference for catholic teenagers, an amazing day of worship unlike any other! It mixes praise and worship music with a powerful, inspiring yet challenging witness talks. The main focus is a time of adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the opportunity for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The day always ends with Mass where teens are sent to go as witnesses of Christ! It’s a day that started with 158 teens in 2012, 302 teens in 2013, 2014 - 612 teens and 2015 - 1000+ Teens! We're not slowing down! I have no words to use and express what happens in Uganda! You need to come and witness by yourself someday! Although I have got for you some photos which can give you a picture of how Uganda goes crazy for Jesus. The teens walk about 20 kilometers (12.5 miles) to come and be present and we spend about 12 hours worshiping!
I want to thank St. Stephen's for your prayers and support; this couldn't happen without you!
We love you so much and we’re praying for you!
