“Be Still and Know that I Am God”, Psalm 46:10. Centering Prayer, a part of our Christian tradition for more than 2000 years, embraces the belief that by surrendering to God in silence, we can dwell in God's holy presence and be blessed by the fruits of God's Spirit. While Centering Prayer is simple, its impact is profound. For 20 minutes, twice a day, (and one hour weekly at a group gathering) we set aside our busy lives and offer ourselves to God in silence.

The Catechism tells us that Adoration is the acknowledgment of God as God, Creator and Savior, the Lord and Master of everything that exists. Through worship and prayer, we adore God; it is the first act of the virtue of religion. Eucharistic Adoration has many benefits including growing closer to Jesus and healing of body, soul, and spirit. At St. Stephen’s Adoration usually takes place in the Chapel. There is a core group of adorers who are trained and committed to a scheduled hour or more. There is also opportunity to commit to a weekly hour of adoration when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed in the monstrance. The schedule is: Monday from 12pm-6pm and Tuesday – Saturday 9am-4pm. There is continuous adoration every first Friday of the month from 9am through the night to pm Saturday. During this period there are several hours set aside for special groups to sing and pray in Adoration for special needs.
